Volleyball Jump Training
Volleyball jump training is very intense but the results are well worth the amount of effort put in. When I say intense, I don’t mean that you will be spending hours in gym, but you will be go all out with the exercises you should be doing. Make sure not to over-train your body when doing any sort of jump training program. People tend to want to do too much to quickly and then they get frustrated that they aren’t seeing results from their over-training. The human body does not respond well to being over-trained when it comes to jumping. You have to make sure that you are giving yourself enough time to rest between workouts. If you can barely walk, don’t try to do a plyometric workout, rest a day or two more and it will be for your benefit.
That said, lets look as some great plyometric exercises for volleyball you can do to help you learn how to jump higher. The first exercise is the clean. Cleans are very important because they build explosive speed while also developing strength in your legs and low back. You need a strong core to be able to jump high and cleans help build the core for jump training. Once you can do your weight on the cleans, you will be ready to start a real plyometric workout which will include box jumps.
